Paciolan Clients Top College Football Bowls
This was an exciting year for many of Paciolan's university clients. Out of 56 universities who are headed to a bowl game this year, 41 rely on Paciolan's system to sell their bowl tickets. To support the sale of tickets, Paciolan partnered with bowl bound universities to make bowl announcements early to help drive and manage demand, allow fans to make ticket requests online and reduce box office stress.
Road to Success To maximize ticket sales, the universities typically implemented the following marketing tactics:
- Sent graphically rich emails to promote bowl game ticket requests to season ticket holders as soon as bowl eligibility was determined
- Offloaded the burden of processing bowl ticket requests and reduced printing costs by posting applications online
- Offered incentives to request tickets online (e.g., $10 discount on order fees, a chance to win a pair of bowl tickets, etc.)
- Targeted email club members and past single game ticket buyers geographically near bowl cities to draw additional ticket sales
- Sent reminder emails to maximize response
Keys to Success Since many of the bowl games will be played in late December and early January, these universities effectively utilized this short window of time to prepare, promote and process bowl tickets. Using email marketing and online bowl applications as primary vehicles, many of the bowl bound universities were able to start selling and fulfilling tickets quickly.
