Email Marketing
Emails are by far the most cost effective method to reach customers. And, in most cases, they generate the best response.
Follow this step-by-step guide to maximize the results of your email campaigns.
- Identify accounts with email addresses
Start by scrubbing your customer database and tag accounts with email addresses. Use the following data dictionary to obtain emails so you can target these fans in your campaigns.
If you need assistance with this procedure, please contact customer support.
Note: If you have PACMail, these accounts can be automatically prepared for email distribution (with automatic checks against duplicate email addresses and opt-out lists).
- Create a strong call-to-action in your subject header
- Ex. “Win a Prize by Renewing Your Football Season Tickets Online”
- Ex. “Renew Your Football Season Tickets Early Online and Get a Free Gift”
- Ex. “Ensure great seats and win prizes”
Note: This is what customers see first so make it count.
- Design to ignite fan’s passions
The more visually appealing your email is, the more likely your customers will read and respond.
- Utilize the same color palette and visual branding from your website
- Use game “action photos”
- Keep your design simple and focused
- Include “Renew now” or simple call-to-action button
- Include compelling content
The content needs be simple, relevant and timely:
- Include recent stats, successes from last season, the latest news, etc.
- Talk about the team’s performance as the season unfolds to keep your fans up-to-date
- Streamline content and focus on the offer. Less is more.
- Remind customers of the convenience of renewing online (fast, easy, secure, etc.)
- Timing is everything
Send more than one email to drive action (only email customers who have not renewed).
- Send an announcement email as soon as your online renewal applications are set up
- Send a reminder email two weeks before the renewal deadline
- Send a deadline reminder email a few hours of days before the renewal deadline (make sure they have enough time to respond)
